When we said "I love you"

12.29.2018

It was December 29th, 2018 and Graham had one last Christmas surprise up his sleeve. He told me nothing about the say and said it would all be a surprise. Graham had the whole day planned out he even made an itinerary. We started driving to Kansas City while jamming out to one of our favorite songs "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus. Our first stop was at this go carting place, not just any go cart place it was the crazy fast ones where you have to wear helmets and neck braces. It was so cool! The fun continues when we make it to the next stop were we went ice skating! If you didn't know already Graham is a good ice skater he can skate backwards. After this we decided to get some dinner at my favorite restaurant on the Plaza, Seasons 52. I thought this was the end of our amazing day but it wasn't. He said he had one more surprise waiting. I was getting very confused when he started driving towards an airport. Still confused when we walked inside and one of the workers said "your helicopter tour is ready for you" I was so excited. As we took off over the Plaza we held hands and looked at all the Christmas lights. Yes we should have a Hallmark movie made about us. When we landed I hugged you so tight then you looked at me and said "Kristi, I love you." All I could do was hug you tighter and say "I love you too." That is when I knew I didn't want to go a day without saying it.

The Proposal

06.06.2021

I knew the proposal had to be perfect! I was planning the proposal months in advance and it was extremely hard keeping the engagement a secret. I knew we would both love getting engaged in the Colorado with the beautiful landscape. I went ahead and hired a professional photographer who specializes in Colorado engagements. We came out to Colorado with my family and I was planning on proposing on July 5th but that day came with tons of rain and the photographer and I rescheduled for the next morning at 7AM. I told Kristi we were going to watch the sunrise on Sapphire Point and then go breakfast. I told her we needed to leave by 6:30AM, if you know Kristi she is not a morning person! We were driving up to the pass and man my heart was pounding! I thought she might ask why we were going to watch the sunrise, when the sunrise had already happened. We arrived at the parking lot and we were the only car besides the photographer. We walked down the path to the lookout and I was trying to hide the massive ring box in my jeans pocket. When we got to the lookout point Kristi goes up by the chipmunks and begins taking photos of them all whileI'm extremely nervous. I got positioned where the photographer wanted me to be. Got down on one knee and the tears started flowing! What is really important about her engagement ring is that the diamond is from her late grandpa, Bruce Wilson. The day was so amazing for the start our life together and it was a wonderful surprise for Kristi!
