When individuals and other couples ask us how we met, we usually pause and look at each other with a stupid smirk before giving our answer. In that moment of smirking, we telepathically decide which answer to give. The truth is, we actually met twice. In the summer of 2018, Daniel could be found shaking margaritas behind the bar in the gem of Harvard Square, Felipe's Taqueria; fervently believing that happiness contained a lime wedge and a salted rim. On the evening of July 3rd, with the feeling of independence in the air, Kristi entered Felipe's looking for a perfect plate of nachos and a spicy marg. She may have also been on a date with one of Daniel's best friends, but the night was a little blurry, so who's to say? We exchanged a couple of trivial jokes and a smile or two, but thought nothing of it as we headed to our respective destinations for the holiday weekend. Prior to the recount of our second meeting, we just want to fully endorse the Hinge Application. Months had passed prior to the name 'Kristi Albright' appearing across Daniel's Hinge pool. With a quick confirmation (and blessing) from Daniel’s roommates that this was indeed "Felipe's girl from Fourth of July Eve," we set up our first date at South Boston's most romantic location, Playwright. It took less than two minutes for her to admit that she knew me as "the bartender friend" and that I knew her as the girl from Fourth of July eve. We both liked each other's names much better. From there, our dates and relationship proceeded to brunches at Paramount and dinner dates at Barcelona. We began dating in March of 2019 and became engaged in October of 2022. Maybe only Golden Retrievers make us smile more than being in the presence of those that we cherish most. Our loved ones are the foundation and driving force of our marriage and wedding. We could not be more excited to celebrate our love with the people that have given so much support and care to us throughout our lives. We cannot wait to be in your presence on July 6th and share our stupid smirk with you.
