All it took was a global pandemic, a repatriation flight from Peru, a pause on visa expiration, and two fateful swipes for the pair to connect in spring 2020. This led to endless messaging on nothing-filled days (mundane but thrilling), daredevil rulebreaking (risky but romantic, and involving a 44km round-trip cycle across county borders), and a dozen summer trips to the only place they could go: the sea (where they would get engaged three years later). They are grateful to have found an everlasting home in one another.
