Question

Why is the town called Montezuma? Does this mean I’ll get Montezuma’s revenge?

Answer

Let’s hope not but no guarantees. Montezuma, Ohio was named after Montezuma of Mexico. Motecuhzoma Xocoyotzin, referred to retroactively as Moctezuma II, the ninth Emperor of the Aztec Empire reigned from 1502 or 1503 to 1520. Through his marriage with Queen Tlapalizquixochtzin of Ecatepec (city in Mexico) one of his two wives (crazy yet impressive), he was also king consort of that altepet.
