Matron of Honor
Erica is one of Kristen's high school friends and part of the significant Sass Trio. We spent many weekends in Madison or Iowa City, watching football, tailgating, and tearing up the dance floor. After college, Erica lived with me for 2 years, and you would often find us on the couch, watching Grey's Anatomy with a bottle of wine. I can always depend on Erica to get a Portillo's chocolate cake, a bottle of wine, or medical advice. You will find Erica on the dance floor, messing with Austin, or making some good sarcastic comments.
Best Man
Josh is Austin's middle brother. Their family often says they have to be supervised together because their "great" ideas do not always go as they expected. Sports is their most common conversation topic. Kristen loves to bring up to Josh, a big Packers fan, that Brett Farve ended his career as a Viking. Give him a few Busch Lights, and he might end up on the dance floor.
Maid of Honor
Cassie and Kristen go back to 1st grade and also part of the infamous Sass Trio. Forced together by our parents' Saint Ambrose softball team, we became quick friends. Our families spent summers in Canada camping, boating on the St. Croix, and weekends from fall to summer at volleyball tournaments. Cassie is my go-to playlist maker, so you always know there will be good tunes when she is around. Watch out for Cassie because she will drag you to the dance floor!
Groomsman
Mike is Austin's oldest brother and the rowdiest of the 3. With 8 years separating them, they did not spend a ton of time together growing up. Austin is very proud that he can throw a rock farther than Mike, who is a cop and ex-military. Mike is always down for a good time, whether it is a Busch Light or some whiskey.
Bridesmaid
Bailey and Kristen work together at Saint Ambrose. We started together 5 years ago, Bailey teaching 3rd-grade next to my 4th-grade classroom. We spent many late nights and weekends yelling to each other from our desks. We have been work besties ever since and often are confused by students for one another (but we are not sure why). Bailey is the person that is always willing to listen to my ideas and often brings my design thoughts to life. Bailey is often found singing (sometimes her own made-up songs), so you will see her singing proudly at our wedding.
Groomsman
Andrew, aka Bailey or Austin's Bailey, and Austin met in their fraternity, even though they only grew up about 2 miles from each other. Bailey was Austin's little brother in the fraternity where they spent many hours playing NCAA and Mario Golf. Bailey is always down for a good time, and if you are lucky, you will get to hear his one of a kind laugh.
Bridesman
Eric and Kristen met at the University of Iowa and worked in Intramural Sports together. We first met refereeing basketball, Eric officiatinge and me working the scoreboard. I was not at all confident in my basketball skills, so Eric often answered my questions. The following year we both became supervisors and became quick friends. We are not quite sure if we are each others' best or worst influence, but we definitely made the best of our college experiences. Eric is always willing to party, make a new friend, and dance, so watch out!
Groomsman
Hunter, aka Gooch, and Austin met at Purdue in their fraternity. Both have a love/hate relationship with Purdue sports, and if you get them together, their conversations always revolve around sports. After college, Gooch and Austin lived together with Max, who doesn't know which one he loves more. At our wedding, Gooch will be tearing up the dance floor all night.
Bridesmaid
Anna and Kristen met with the infamous Saint Ambrose softball team. Since our parents are very good friends, we spent a lot of time together growing up. Our families (along with Cassie's family) spent many summers boating and camping in Canada. Anna and I also played a lot of school, house, and even created our own office supply company! We have stayed close throughout the years, and when we get together, we pick up right from where we left off.
Groomsman
Isaac and Austin grew up together and share a birthday. They have been close friends since 3rd grade and were together so often that he had dinner at Austin's house once or twice a week. Video games were their favorite past time, and Austin claims Isaac has never beat him. Isaac will be challenging Gooch for the best dancing groomsman.
Usher
Matt is Kristen's older brother and definitely the more outgoing of the two. Growing up, we did a really good job fighting, but he was always there for me when I had nightmares. Matt loves talking to new people. You will find him on the dance floor or making new friends.
Usher
Adam and Austin met in their fraternity, where he lived across the hall. They spent many Saturdays recovering by watching Bob's Burgers. Adam and his wife Courtney introduced us at their wedding because we were the tallest of their friends. Adam is willing to drink a beer with anyone.
