Kristen told me she was in symphony chorale and had a performance coming up. I took this as the perfect time to see her and ask her on our first date afterwords, Kristen had different plans. After the performance I waited eagerly outside for a text from her to say the date was on. Kristen walked right past me to her car and drove off, she texted me 5 min later saying not tonight. Not deterred and with a little liquid courage I decided to text her and tell her exactly how I felt about her. Well I must have said something correct because I won myself a first date. We met up at Bayern brewery and the connection was immediate and very strong. Here was this amazing, funny, accomplished, and beautiful woman. There were no lulls in the conversation and it didn't need to be forced, it was natural. After a few drinks neither of us wanted the date to end. We decided make it a true Missoula date night and went to the Tamarack followed by a walk in the Rattlesnake. I was really nervous to hold her hand on the walk but am very glad I did, it just felt right. Kristen led us to the edge of the water and this is were we shared our first kiss. At the end of the date it was really hard to say goodbye. Kristen was working in Seeley at the time and it would be another week before we would be able to see one and another. This would be the longest week of my life and the start of something truly magical.
We started off with an amazing morning of cooking breakfast together and Tyler let me watch whatever cooking shows I wanted (I should of known something was up then!). He then suggested we go on a walk. I tried to put my hand on his leg while driving. I basically touched the ring that was in his pocket! We finally get to the hiking trail in the Rattlesnake, the same place we had our first date. I should of known something was really wrong when there were a million cars there and Tyler said let's go! We always leave if there are too many people. We walk and went to the exact place we had our first kiss. Tyler asked me to come by the water to feel how cold it is. I told him I didn't want to walk down there because of the steep slope. I was basically trying to sabotage his whole proposal idea without knowing it! He finally convinced me. He said so many amazing things to me then got down on one knee. We teared up and talked about how awesome our life together will be. I can't wait to be Tyler's wife!
