Kristen's description: My best friend, Sara (MOH) invited me out to Emmett, Idaho one day to watch her play slow pitch softball. Little did I know that this hunk of a guy (Groom) was going to be there too. Unfortunately for them their game got cancelled, but that meant that I got to explore the Emmett Cherry Festival with my tour guide (Groom) & learn basically his entire life story (this guy can talk). He let me know all about his baseball career (I was thinking, JACKPOT!), about his family (the best of the best), & how he gave the absolute best hugs (he wasn't lying). From that moment on we have talked every single day & have fallen madly in love. He is my best friend & I CANNOT WAIT to be his wife. I love you Mr, Buffington!
I am handed a phone and told to give this young lady directions to Emmett’s finest, the Cherry festival. Hey, no problem, I grew up here. After a short walk i reached the location we’d all parked at. Little did i know, that upon seeing my future bride, my jaw hit the pavement. Come on Scott, get it together and don’t mess this up. I was warned by the MOH that i was going to be impressed at what i was about to lay my eyes upon. Thank you Sara, you were right. So as we walk back to the festival, I’m trying super hard to not put my foot in my mouth, which does happen often. After a few carnival games and fun, we decide to go back to the park for our last game of the day. I was trying my hardest to impress her, of course. After we won the tourney on Sunday, we decided to head to lunch. Where apparently I told her my life story, to this day i disagree. After lunch I was worried that I’d ran her off, by talking too much, which is what I had heard. Well, exactly the opposite happened. We stayed in touch, and everyday since that day we’ve been by each other’s side. I could not have met a better woman than you, Kristen. And i get to have you as my wife. O boy am i pumped. Thank you for choosing me. I can’t wait to see what our future has in store for us and our families. I love you and August 3rd is our day. I will see you there.
