Things To Do

We are so excited to have our closest family and friends come to Chicago to celebrate our wedding with us! Here are a few of our favorite go-to spots and what we would consider "must-see" places
Magnificent Mile

Magnificent Mile

Chicago, IL 60611

The city's famous Magnificent Mile is a section of Michigan Avenue north of the Chicago River, with numerous galleries, boutiques, and luxury shops. Some of the attractions along here include the John Hancock Center, the Wrigley Building, and the Tribune Tower. Favorite Restaurant Spots: RL Restaurant, Billy Goat Tavern (The Original)

Chicago Riverwalk

The Chicago Riverwalk is an open, pedestrian waterfront located on the south bank of the main branch of the Chicago River downtown. It spans from Lake Shore Drive to Lake Street. There are restaurants, places to sit and relax, or kayak and paddleboard rentals for those looking to be adventurous! Favorite Drink Spots: City Winery Riverwalk, The Northman Beer & Cider Garden

Millennium Park

Millennium Park

201 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60602
, (312) 742-1168

Millennium Park is part of the larger Grant Park, located in downtown Chicago. Its centerpiece is a 110-ton sculpture name Cloud Gate or “The Bean”, which has a polished, mirror-like stainless steel surface that was inspired by liquid mercury. It reflects the surroundings, including buildings, the sky, and the tourists who walk through its central arch. Another top attraction in Millennium Park is Crown Fountain.

The Art Institute of Chicago

The Art Institute of Chicago

111 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603
, (312) 443-3600

Located in downtown Chicago and steps away from our wedding venue, the Art Institute is one of the world’s great art museums, housing a collection that spans centuries and the globe.

Chicago Architecture River Boat Cruise Tours

Chicago Architecture River Boat Cruise Tours

112 E. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60611

Weather permitting, the Chicago River Boat Architecture Tours are the most fascinating way to see and learn about Chicago's historic downtown. (Enter on the Northeast corner of Michigan Ave. and E. Wacker Dr. and look for the blue awning marking the stairway entrance (112 E. Wacker).

The Signature Room at the 95th®

The Signature Room at the 95th®

875 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611
, (312) 787-9596

The Signature Room on the 95th floor and Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock building has some of the best views of the city. Skip the Observation Desk and check out the lounge (and ladies, don't forget to check out the view from the women's restroom!).

Cindy's Rooftop

Cindy's Rooftop

12 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60603
, (312) 792-3502

Cindy's is right by Millennium Park and the Bean and is a beautiful and popular rooftop with a view of the Bean and Millennium Park. Be prepared to wait, but the view is absolutely gorgeous on a clear Chicago day.

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Chicago

646 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

This is the world's largest Starbucks that opened in Chicago in November 2019. If you are a Starbucks fanatic, it's worth checking out. It's way more than a big coffee shop - this Starbucks has a bakery and café, shops, scooping bar, and a cocktail bar!

Portillo's Hot Dogs

Portillo's Hot Dogs

100 West Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 587-8910

For classic Chicago eats, you can't miss Portillo's! Located in the heart of River North, this is definitely somewhere you need to stop at least once on your weekend in Chicago. Italian Beefs, Hot Dogs, Burgers, Chopped Salads, Cheese Fries and Chocolate Cake Shakes are the classics!

Pequod's Pizza

Pequod's Pizza

2207 North Clybourn Avenue, Chicago, IL 60614

Our favorite Chicago deep dish pizza! If you have time, the trip to Lincoln Park is totally worth it. If it’s too far, no worries because Pizzeria Uno, Giordano's, and Lou Malnati's are located blocks away from The Rookery!
