Per Connecticut guidelines on private gatherings, we have significantly reduced the size of our guest list to allow for social distancing, we are expecting approx 50 guests. We have also moved our reception outdoors, to allow for maximum safety and air circulation. For more information on Connecticut's guidelines please see here: https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/Covid-19-Knowledge-Base/Latest-Guidance
Yes! We understand that while the North East region is doing well with containing the spread of COVID-19, travel may be of concern for some of you. We will not be hurt if you choose to join us virtually. Please contact us for information on how to join the livestream at kristen.harold@gmail.com.
Yes. We ask that all guests wear a mask or face covering when they are unable to stay socially distant with other guests. This is to ensure that all of our guests can feel safe and comfortable during our special day. Who says you can't have fun wearing a mask! For your convenience, we will be providing masks and hand sanitizer.
During our ceremony, all guests are required to wear masks and must sit in every other pew, spaced 6ft apart by household. We are also asking that guests do not sit right on the aisle. This will allow the bride and bridesmaids to enter without masks. However, once seated, the bridal party will be wearing their masks. At various points in the ceremony the bride and groom, along with the priest will be putting on masks when spacing can't be maintained. For information on how our hotel is maintaining safety please see here: https://watersedgeresortandspa.com/updates/
Our caterer is following strict guidelines to ensure safety. If you live in the Northeast and have dined outdoors, you will see the same precautions taken at our wedding. For cocktail hour, all food will be pre-portioned into cups and handed to guests by a gloved server. This will limit the number of hands that could potentially touch any food. Dinner service will be a plated dinner (no buffet). Servers will be wearing masks and gloves, all china, glasses, and flatware, tables, chairs, etc will be sanitized prior to guest arrival. While we cannot currently have a traditional bar setup, you can still order whatever you would like directly from a server and they will bring it to you. We ask that you consume any beverages at your table if you're unable to stay socially distant. This will minimize time without a mask while mingling.
Yes! Because we have cut our guest list down and will be outdoors, there will plenty of room for you to spread out and dance. That said, we won't be doing any form of group dancing and we ask that you dance with members of your same household and maintain 6ft of distance from other guests. Please also plan to wear your mask, when you are not seated at your table or within 6 feet of other guests. In addition to dancing, we plan to have some other fun, socially distant activities like lantern painting, corn hole, and you can all help add to a special painting for the bride and groom to keep.
We would greatly appreciate it if our guests would plan to get tested for COVID-19 in the days prior to the wedding. Here are some resources for you to find your local testing site: Connecticut: https://www.211ct.org/search?terms=COVID-19%20Diagnostic%20Tests&page=1&location=Connecticut&taxonomy_code=11048&service_area=connecticut New York: https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you Massachusetts: https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-testing If you are traveling from outside of the Northeast, please be aware there are travel advisories in place, which require travelers from areas with high infection rates to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. These guidelines are continually changing, for a full list of states on the travel advisory and answers to commonly asked questions, please visit: https://portal.ct.gov/coronavirus/travel?fbclid=IwAR1WH18yxD_pPTvRBkuAgjfTvXu5ZiD5E1ug5W-Pj67vrmnLewMaMNbckB4.
While we would love to give you all a big hug, we are asking that instead, you blow a kiss, wave, or elbow bump to greet us or fellow guests.
In order to ensure consistent social distancing, we will not be providing a bus between locations. We realize this may be a slight inconvenience, but your health and safety is our top priority.
Please stay at home! For your health and the health of our other guests, we ask that if you do not feel well or you know you have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home and join us virtually.
