FAQs

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

Since we are hosting the celebration at our home on a quiet cul-de-sac, parking on our street (Duckwood Ct.) is limited. We recommend arriving a few minutes early to find a spot! Please keep the driveway clear for guest drop-offs and service vehicles. If Duckwood Ct. is full, there is plenty of additional street parking available on Ellinwood, which is the street you’ll take just before turning onto our court. It’s a very short walk to the house, and we appreciate you being mindful not to block our neighbors' driveways!

Question

Can I go inside the house?

Answer

To ensure the day runs smoothly and to accommodate our large number of guests, we kindly ask that the celebration stay outdoors. We want to keep the house as a quiet zone for the wedding party and to avoid any unnecessary stress on our home’s septic system. For your convenience, we will have luxury restroom trailers located right next to the garage. They are fully climate-controlled, well-lit, and much nicer than a standard 'portaloo!' We appreciate your help in keeping the party (and the plumbing!) running smoothly by using these facilities rather than the indoor bathrooms.

Question

Can I take photos and post them?

Answer

We love a good photo and encourage you to capture all the fun throughout the night! However, to keep our celebration private and intimate, we kindly ask that you do not post any photos or videos of the event to social media at any time. We can’t wait to share our professional photos with you all once they are ready!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only occasion. We hope this advance notice allows you to join us for a night of relaxation and celebration! We understand that childcare can sometimes be a challenge. If you find yourself absolutely unable to secure a sitter, please reach out to us by July 1st to let us know so we can discuss your situation.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is Cocktail Attire. We suggest cocktail dresses, your favorite LBD, dressy jumpsuits, or dark jackets and slacks. Please keep in mind that our reception will be held outdoors on the grass. To ensure you stay comfortable (and don't get stuck in the lawn!), we highly recommend opting for flats, wedges, or block heels rather than stilettoes. As the sun sets, the evening may get breezy, we recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl.

Question

What time does the party end?

Answer

While we don’t have an official 'lights out' time, we want to be respectful of our wonderful Lakewood Village neighbors. To stay within the local noise ordinance, our DJ will be wrapping up the loud music at 10:00 PM. Afterward, we’ll be slowing things down to enjoy a more quiet lakeside evening, you are more than welcome to stay and keep the celebration going with us!

Question

What happens if it rains?

Answer

The party must go on! We are planning for a beautiful day by the water, but in the event of a Michigan summer shower, we will have a large tent set up to keep everyone dry and comfortable. Rain or shine, we can't wait to celebrate with you!

Question

What time should I arrive for the reception?

Answer

We kindly ask that you do not arrive any earlier than 3:00 PM. As we are hosting this at our home, we will be busy with final setups and private photos until then. We want everything to be perfect when we finally welcome you in, so we appreciate you timing your arrival for 3:00 PM or later!
