One of Kristen's favorite places in Santa Barbara - perfect for an afternoon stroll! Visit the charming, palm-tree lined Promenade in the heart of Downtown Santa Barbara known for its breathtaking Spanish-style architecture where you will find something for everyone - shops, local boutiques, great restaurants, fine art galleries, and historical landmarks. State Street spans from Stearns Wharf to the foothills, providing scenic views of the San Ynez Mountains and Pacific Ocean.
East Beach & Stearn's Wharf
Enjoy a relaxing stroll or bikeride along East Beach strand and the iconic Stearns Wharf to take in the beauty of the Santa Barbara Harbor. Pro Tip: go during sunset hour!
Butterfly Beach
Nestled in the heart of Montecito with views of the Channel Islands, Butterfly Beach is a picturesque beach known for its stunning sunsets and clean sands, ideal for relaxing walks along the Santa Barbara coastline. Butterfly Beach is easily accessible via Olive Mill Road onto Channel Drive, which features a paved bike path and stairs straight down to the sand.

Hike Inspiration Point
A locals favorite hike that rewards hikers with panoramic ocean, city, and Channel Island views from the top. The moderately challenged trail gradually climbs through chaparral while offering a satisfying reward without being too strenuous. Great for a sunrise or late afternoon hike. The main trailhead for Inspiration Point starts from Tunnel Trail in the Santa Barbara foothills, which is accessible from Las Positas Road off Highway 101. Look for trailheads in the vicinity of Tunnel Trail & Mountain Drive for parking, often near the 2000 Tunnel Rd, Santa Barbara, CA 93105 area for trailhead access. 3.5 miles round-trip | Moderate | ~1.5–2 hours
