We encourage all guests traveling for our wedding to stay in our town of Bury St Edmunds. We are excited to show you where we live, and have planned additional wedding activities in town. For guests travelling by air, we recommend flying into London Heathrow Airport (LHR) where you’ll find the widest range of international and long‑haul flight options. From Heathrow, Bury St Edmunds is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours by car or train (with changes at London stations) — a straightforward journey into Suffolk. London Stansted Airport (STN) is the closest major airport to Bury St Edmunds — about 1 hour by car — and can be a good secondary option, especially if flying from within Europe. There are no direct flights into Stansted from many international locations, but it’s well connected for shorter‑haul travel. We generally don’t recommend flying into London Gatwick (LGW) for travel to Bury St Edmunds, as it’s farther away and involves a longer onward connection (often involving multiple train changes or a longer drive).

Its location is especially convenient, just a short stroll from Abbey Gardens and adjacent to wedding events taking place at The Angel Hotel and the Abbey Gardens, making it ideal for guests who wish to walk to the celebrations. Please note that not all rooms in this historic hotel are air conditioned.

For a more tranquil stay outside the town centre, All Saints Resort offers a peaceful countryside setting with modern rooms, spa facilities, a golf course, and relaxed dining. It is generally regarded as an upscale yet good-value option for guests who enjoy resort-style amenities. Please note that this hotel is not within walking distance of the town centre or Abbey Gardens, so travel by car or taxi will be required to attend wedding events.

It is a practical choice for guests seeking convenience without a premium price tag and is within walking distance of the town centre, Abbey Gardens, and wedding venues. A dependable mid-range option for a comfortable stay.

Located just off the A14, this Premier Inn provides the same reliable comfort and value but is a longer walk into town center (about 15 minutes). We have added it as a secondary option to Premier Inn Centre in the case it becomes sold out.
