After years of friendship we decided to take a leap of faith and see if we were meant to be "more than friends." Dinner, drinks and lots of conversation pursued and quickly thereafter we decided to put our friendship at risk and give love a chance. After several months of dating we were on lock down with the rest of the world due to Covid. Instead of annoying each other in constant close proximity, our relationship actually blossomed. Since Matt just started construction on his new home, we spent a lot of our spare time trying to make selections for his house, with the help of Lauren of course. Little did Kristen know that he was planning to propose when the house was done, so her input was greatly needed. Kristen pushed back at times, since this was "his house," but Matt insisted and slowly but surely she started to vocalize more and more of her suggestions. To nobody's surprise, she was mainly worried about the Kitchen. Lead times, supply chain issues and life in general slowed down construction more than Matt would have liked, but eventually the house was nearing its completion, so the plan was put into place. On Friday, May 28, 2021 fake dinner plans were made with Matt's parents, but he told Kristen that he wanted to drive her to the house beforehand to check out the progress. Unbeknownst to Kristen, her and Matt's families were hiding on the rear balcony while Matt took her through the side yard to show her the progress out back. After stumbling through a few words Matt dropped to one knee and nervously asked her to be his wife. At that point both families were yelling and screaming while Kristen turned around in shock. Never one to be short on words, Kristen was speechless. We met our families inside and at that point Kristen realized the house was done and there was even some furniture inside. We spent the rest of the night enjoying food, champagne and great conversations with our loved ones. At one point Kristen asked if we were still going out to eat with Matt's parents. No Kristen, this "is it."
