Luke and Kristen met while working at Pinz Bowling Alley in Oakdale in April 2019. He was working as a cook and Kristen had just started as a server.

It was a Wednesday evening and Kristen had just gotten home from the gym. Luke suggested taking the dogs for a walk as that was our usual nightly routine when the weather was nice. Luke was hurrying Kristen up as he wanted to get there before sunset. Instead of going to the usual dog park, Luke suggested we check out the trails at the Oakdale Nature Preserve. As neither of us had ever been there before, we decided to just explore some of the different paths. We eventually came upon a bridge that crossed over a pond. We walked over it and Luke commented that we should probably start heading back so we wouldn't get lost in the dark. As we were crossing back over the bridge, we stopped halfway to look out over the water at the gorgeous sunset. Luke bent down to our dog Bren and Kristen immediately thought Bren was trying to eat something he had found. Instead, Luke pulled out a twist tie and formed it into a circle ring and said Bren wants to know if you will be his forever Mommy. Kristen (still having no idea what was about to happen) thought that was the cutest and sweetest thing ever and replied of course I will Bren! Then, all of a sudden Luke got down on one knee and asked if I would be his forever wife. Kristen in total shock replied OMG Really?!? YES ABSOLUTELY!!
