I first met Kristen in high school she was the fast girl with the long legs. I would tell you some stories but those are memories I will never forget. I didn’t think our relationship would be so genuine like it is today. Through the years we have faced hard times, break up's and great drinking nights sipping cheap wine. I wouldn’t change it for the world. When she first told me she was getting married I thought I was loosing my sister, but once I met Keyon, I then knew he had her back as much as I did. I was gaining a brother. I love them both!

I met Kristen Grayson the year of 2011. Kristen was interested in joining my sorority Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., on the campus of Texas Southern University. During the interest meeting, Kristen had this noticeable desire in her eyes that let me know that she was determined to become a member even if she had to do it by herself. And Kristen did just that. We met a LONG time ago, when we both were servers at Chili's Galleria. "Chili-heads" for life! You were younger than me, but you had an old and wise spirit that I connected with. I really don't remember how we meet lol. If my memory serves me correctly, I think I meet you through Will and Ced or through Travis McGowan. We were in the student center one day vibing and Will said something about going to walk to field where they were having football practice. I had just transferred and wanted to see if we could get information about becoming a walk on and while we waited to speak to the coach; Ced seen some chick in the cut he knew with a group of other girls in a few guys. Come to find out it was you and Quincy with the cheerleaders. We went over there and talked to y'all and the rest is history.

I met Keyon Ross in high school back in the day. This was during the time he began his rap career. Later we began to hang on the mean streets of H-town. This is a where we became brothers, and still have each other’s back til this day.

My freshman year at Texas Southern University is when I met Keyon. He was a mutual friend of my late mentor, Shaun. Keyon's and I first encounter was at Shaun’s 27th birthday party. It was a pretty causal meeting as it started by exchanging names and taking a shot. After that we went into a bottle drinking contest, where I unfortunately caught alcohol poisoning, behind him. To this day I don’t regret any of it. He has been a close peer/mentor in my corner. I look at him as a brother, and sincerely wouldn’t replace him for anyone.

Keyon and I met In the 10th grade in 2002 at Alief Taylor High School. We had Chemistry Class together and truth be told we would always get in trouble for talking or not following directions that was given. We hung out so much outside of school that Keyon and some more friends gave me the nickname Dino. And it’s been with me all these years. I can remember our 12th grade year homecoming and we all road in Keyon mom’s mini van. We were about 7 deep in it and it had to be one of the best nights we all had together. Just to have a friend you can talk to and ask honest feedback is truly hard to find. Even after all these years we still remained to keep in touch and to see him marrying the love of his life makes me very grateful to keep a friendship and to gain another one through kristen.

Keyon Ross is my cousin. This is supposed to be how we met but, it's kind of hard to do. As far as I can remember he has always been more than a cousin; he's been my brother, and 1/3 of the baddest kids you could meet. I watched my brother go from jumping off a flight of stairs thinking he could fly with a batman cape his grandmother made for him, to walking across the graduation stage. And then now, choosing a wife to completely make him whole. Last thing to add would be *cough* kids! We are less then a month apart in age with a million memories, scraped knees, and a million stories to go along with them. I could not start my life story without saying my brother and I.

Shawn left this precious earth leaving me with knowledge on how to be a great friend, mentor, and a husband. We shared so many laughs, hour long conversations, turn-ups, and brotherly love. I met you my Freshman year after our unofficial roommate, Ced Fisher, decided to pledge Sigma. I had no clue about Greek Life at this time, but I knew I would inherit a million more "roommates" sleeping on our living room floor every night. It was in these moments, although I didn’t know it yet, I would end up meeting a person I now call my brother. If it was not for Keyon Ross, I would not have known about Grooves on Fridays, Metropolis, Club Heat, the entire Main Street, Washington Ave, Midtown, or Downtown. (Don’t Judge, we went to these places wholesome and saved).

Keyon and I met in 2009 when I transferred to the University of Houston. Incidentally, I had many friends that attended TSU, including a couple of his line brothers. We became friends through the circles and then later in 2010 I became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. at UH which brought us closer together. Now I have a symbolic brother I can’t get rid of! A decade has passed and we are still close friends and never wavered. I am so happy to see him flourish and find someone that completes him.
