What is the Best way to get to Cluny Castle?
Answer
If you are flying out of the US flying to Aberdeen or Edinburgh is the best way to go. If you fly into Edinburgh you can take a two hour train ride to Aberdeen. You can download the Scotrail app to find the train schedule. Once you are in Aberdeen there will be a shuttle leaving from the Chester hotel the day of the wedding to get you there. There are also Taxi services and an Uber like service called Bolt that can take you around.

What travel Documents do I need?
Answer
If flying from the US you do not need a visa or a a proof of vaccination to travel to the UK. Just a passport that must not expire 90 days before your departure. If this is your first time flying internationally and you are checking a bag you must re-check your bag if you have a connecting flight inside the UK.

What is the attire for the wedding?
Answer
The dress code is formal wear. So please not short dresses, or suits without coats. We do encourage people to dress eclectically. You want to wear a kilt? A bolo tie with a Stetson? A gown with huge puffy sleeves? Awesome! We are in a castle people get fun with it!

Cluny Castle is a historical estate built in the 14th century. There are many artifacts that cannot be touched. There is no smoking on the premises.

First time traveling to Scotland?
Answer
If this is your first time traveling to Scotland or even out of the country we are so happy you can join us! Here are some small things to know. Scotland uses the Pound as currency. you can exchange currency at the airport or a bank before you leave, however, most places are card only after the pandemic. You will want to make sure your bank cards will work outside the US. Scotland has different electrical outlets than the US. You will need to get a three-prong adapter to use your charger/electrical devices. We highly recommend making reservations for dinning/activities beforehand. Almost everything is reservation only since the pandemic. Bring layers! Aberdeen is on the coast and the rain can be quiet chilly.
