We met for the first time Sept. 23rd, 2017 at a party that was hosted by a mutual friend. I had no interest in meeting anyone at the time because of a very recent breakup. However, the night ended up being one to remember and involved an ice luge, ruined keds, and something about street hockey face-off challenges. Jordy later confessed it was love at first sight. Fun fact, he hated the 4 door Jeep Wranglers until he met me! In Aug. of 2019, we traveled overseas with his family for summer vacation. Our first stop was the remote town of Leysin, Switzerland. August 3rd, we embarked on very strenuous hike up to the top of La Berneuse (elevation: 6,709')! I learned afterwards that this particular journey was all just for me and my love of the outdoors, mountain views and hiking. After finally reaching the top, I enjoyed a cold, hard earned beer with my future mother-in-law. She suggested a picture of Jordy and I together "without sunglasses and backpacks." Despite his fear of heights, we posed on the edge of the mountain (literally) for the picture. That was when Jordy dropped to one knee and asked me to "be his Mama Bear." The ring was absolutely beautiful and the box was the picture book from one of my favorite movies, "Up." After a moment of shock, the answer was yes, obviously! Apparently, the ring had been in plain sight without me noticing for weeks. I was very impressed. After taking the cable car back down the mountain, everyone celebrated and waited anxiously to FaceTime my family due to the 6 hr time difference. The following week held adventures in Venice, Florence, and Rome that were truly magical. Since then, we have been working hard and planning for the future. We moved to a cute little beach house in Milford, CT with our fur child, Maggie, and spend every moment we can enjoying life. We are so grateful for all of the wonderful people in our lives and are looking forward to saying "I do " in front of our loving families and friends. ❤️
