The Youngstown Cookie Table is a cherished wedding tradition believed to have started with European immigrants during the Great Depression. Since many newlyweds couldn't afford a wedding cake, family and friends baked cookies and sweets, often using recipes passed down through generations. This tradition has endured and is now one of Youngstown's most beloved wedding customs.

In Youngstown, the question isn't "How was the wedding?" but "How were the cookies?"
