Matron of Honor
When Kristen first met Rachel, she never imagined how important Rachel would become in her life. They met through a group of mutual friends freshman year of college, that notably includes Kalyssa and Christine. Not long after, they discovered they would be together in almost every nursing clinical — a surprise that felt like God’s plan all along. Their bond deepened during junior year, particularly in their psych and community health rotations, where they spent hours talking about life, faith, and the challenges of nursing school. Even when life became hectic, especially during the COVID pandemic, Kristen and Rachel made it a priority to stay connected. They would catch up almost every month, pray, and support one another. Rachel became more than a friend. She became Kristen’s spiritual sister, a constant encourager, and a steady presence through every season. Now, Rachel stands beside her as her matron of honor, a role that perfectly reflects the depth of their friendship and faith.

Jeffy and Andrew’s friendship goes back to middle school, bonded by their shared Taiwanese roots and countless memories growing up side by side throughout high school. Over the years, Andrew has become like a brother — the kind you laugh with endlessly, butt heads with occasionally, and can always count on. From countless sleepovers to family dinners and vacations, Norm and Cindy embraced Andrew as part of the family, always welcoming him with warmth and love. Through every season of life, Andrew has remained one of Jeffy’s most loyal friends — offering honest counsel when it’s hardest to hear and standing faithfully by his side. Fun fact: Andrew was the quarterback captain while Jeffy played middle linebacker on their high school football team. They may not have won many games, but together they built something far greater — a lifelong brotherhood.

So it goes… when Kristen was in 1st grade, she was given a homework assignment to draw her family. That’s when she was devastated to learn she was an only child. After a couple years of dramatic tears (and persistent campaigning), Kristen’s wish finally came true: enter Hannah, her baby sister! Though eight years apart in age, Kristen and Hannah share an unbreakable bond. They enjoy many things together—watching The Great British Baking Show, trips to Hong Kong, and just about all things Taylor Swift. From big-sister advice to little-sister comebacks, their sisterhood has never been short of love, laughter, and the occasional dramatic eye roll. Kristen adores and is endlessly grateful for Hannah—her sister, her built-in best friend, and a bond she treasures more than words can say.

Matthew has been one of Jeffy’s youngest childhood friend since 3rd grade, when they met on the handball courts at summer camp. Years later, they were coincidentally placed in the same high school homeroom — a bond that deepened through fellowship at church and the warmth of Matthew’s family, who hosted Jeffy for Christmas on several occasions and embraced him as one of their own. Always friendly and encouraging even in the face of Jeffy’s lighthearted mischief, Matthew has become a true brother in Christ, living out Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Fun fact: Matthew and Jeffy went the distance together — literally — running all 26.2 miles of the San Francisco Marathon in July 2023, proving their friendship is built for the long run.

Something was in the air the night Christine and Kristen first met. They were just two first graders attending Friday night Chinese class, probably chatting about something only 6-year-olds could find important. Whatever it was, it sparked a friendship that would last for decades, through moves to different cities and attending different schools. Kristen and Christine reunited when they discovered they would be attending USF. Without much hesitation, they chose to be roommates! In their junior year, it was Christine who suggested they take an evening Sociology class together, not knowing that this very class would be where Kristen met Jeffy. Some friendships are just meant to be, and this one has been full of laughter, milestones, and unexpected beginnings.

Jeffy first met Brando freshman year at USF on the 28 bus ride home with Ben. Though naturally introverted, Brando mustered up the courage to say hello — a small moment that sparked a brotherhood lasting well beyond college. From café “study” sessions of questionable productivity to late-night talks and heart-to-hearts over food and boba, Brando has been a steady presence in Jeffy’s life. When Jeffy moved away for his first nursing job during COVID, Brando was, and still is, the listening ear who keeps him grounded and connected. Fun fact: Before early-morning clinicals, Jeffy and Brando once squeezed into a twin bed rather than let either sleep on the floor — the perfect snapshot of a brotherhood built on laughter and true friendship.

Kristen and Kelly have known each other since they were young, their friendship rooted in the bond their mothers shared long before they were born. From the earliest memories, they called each other god sisters, a title that has grown more meaningful over time. Their childhood was filled with sleepovers, endless laughter, and kind of silly, joyful moments that helped shape a deep and lasting connection. As they entered high school, their friendship only grew stronger as they lifted each other up through the challenges of adolescence. When they moved away for college, there was hardly a school break or trip home the they didn't make time to be together. Kelly has always shown her love in thoughtful ways –often bringing treats by and keeping in touch with Kristen's family. Her kindness, loyalty and lifelong friendship are treasures Kristen is grateful for.

Ben was Jeffy’s very first friend in college. One of the goofiest jokesters he knows, Ben can fill any room with laughter — yet beneath the humor, he’s also one of the most sincere, caring, and kind people Jeffy has ever met. They first connected at USF during a Christian club meeting, where Jeffy introduced himself as “Jeffy.” With a grin, Ben became the first friend to call him “Jeff” — a name that stuck and marked the start of a friendship built on laughter, faith, and brotherhood. That bond carried them through nursing school and continues today as close friends and fellow nurses. Fun fact: On their Hawaii trip in 2019, Jeffy (who can’t swim) entrusted his life to Ben on a shared paddleboard. Later that day, he, Ben, and Brando ended up giggling like kids while rubbing aloe on each other’s sunburned backs — a glimpse of the joy Ben brings out in Jeffy, and proof he’s always had his back in more ways than one.

Kristen met Kalyssa freshman year of college, and what began as sharing a dorm quickly became sharing life. From late-night study sessions to heartbreak and everything in between, their friendship grew into a once-in-a-lifetime bond. They were even mistaken for each other at school and church — a sign of just how alike they were. Their days were filled with baked goods, old Taylor Swift songs, boba runs, and the laughter and prayers that carried them through tough semesters. Even after graduation, their friendship never faded. They’ve visited each other across the distance between LA and the Bay, staying close through intentional encouragement — letters, care packages, and all things snail mail. Kalyssa is one of the people who knows Kristen’s heart best, and Kristen couldn’t imagine this day without her by her side.
Groomsman
Nathan and Jeffy’s friendship began at Koinonia Children’s Day Camp through Cornerstone Trinity Baptist Church, where they met around third grade. Over the years, their bond deepened through weekly youth fellowship and by serving side by side as leaders at summer camps, including KCDC and VBS. Nathan and his family have become like a second family to Jeffy, warmly welcoming both him and Kristen into their home over the years with generosity, wise counsel, and constant support. To Jeffy, Nathan is a truthful and steadfast spiritual friend — a brother in Christ who consistently encourages, challenges, and builds him up. Fun fact: Only a select few have ever heard Jeffy sing — and Nathan faithfully endured it every Sunday morning from middle school through high school during church choir. Thankfully, their friendship stayed perfectly in tune despite the weekly rehearsals.
