Like any modern love story, we met through an online dating site. Jeff was about a week away from cancelling his account, and I had just ventured back online after heartbreak, when our profiles crossed paths. Jeff messaged me first, and I loved how passionately he spoke about comic books. We made a date to meet just a week after beginning communication!
Our first date was at Yoshino's in Riverpark (and we continue to go back every year)! I was super nervous when I walked up and saw Jeff waiting for me. Turned out I had nothing to be nervous about. We clicked immediately, and ended up talking til midnight. I learned later Jeff had checked in to the restaurant on Facebook, captioned "Fingers Crossed," and followed up with explosion emotis! Isn't that the cutest thing?!
One night, October 19, 2017 to be exact, I was texting Jeff and my mom about completely separate things. My mom started asking me what I thought about this new guy I was dating. By this time I was completely enamored with Jeff so I started gushing to my mom. I wrote a text that detailed how much I just wanted to be his girlfriend, but instead of sending it to my mom, I sent that message to Jeff! Luckily he took it in stride and told me he'd love to be my boyfriend, so it worked out ;)
Jeff planned our Engagement perfectly. We had been planning a trip to Disneyland since April, and I told a few people it would be the perfect moment for him to propose but I didn't expect it. Little did I know, Jeff was way ahead of me. He and my mom conspired so he could get my grandmother's rings before our trip, he made sure two of my best friends were there so they could get it on video and celebrate with us, and he did it at my most favorite place! We waited for my friends to get there and then stood in line to take pictures in front of the castle. After our group picture, Jeff and I got in position for our picture. We got a couple pictures taken before Jeff was down on one knee. He knew what my answer would be so he said, "Well say it!" After I said "yes" through my tears, Jeff screamed to the crowed that I said yes and everyone cheered! It was perfect and I was completely surprised!
