Georgetown is Kristen and Hank's favorite neighborhood to visit in DC. They took their engagement photos there with Pablo at 6am, and Hank miraculously kept a smile on his face the whole time. Come to Georgetown for bougie shopping, tasty food, quaint architecture and waterfront views.
Weather permitting, we recommend renting bikes using Capital Bikeshare to explore all of the amazing monuments, museums, and parks that DC has to offer. Capital Bikes are located in more than 300 locations throughout the city, and there are spots to rent them all over downtown.
Washington DC is not only known for its collection of controversial politicians but also its bevy of wonderful and usually free museums. Kristen's favorite is the Natural History Museum. She loves the elephant in the lobby, and the beautiful gemstones in its gallery.
Take a quick metro ride over to the Bethesda metro station and explore classic downtown Bethesda and Chevy Chase. This area has a ton of shops, restaurants, and also some exercise spots for those interested in SoulCycle, CorePower, and similar.
If you're interested in sticking near the hotel, the Pike and Rose area is a brand new mecca of shopping, dining and bars. Also has a wonderful outdoor grassy area to hang out in!
Amazing spot for brunch, lunch or dinner. Most DC locals are obsessed with this place. Kristen coughed up a good part of her intern salary to go here when living in Tenleytown in 2018!
Kristen and Hank stumbled upon this American Filipino restaurant when walking from the Smithsonian Zoo back to Kristen's apartment in July 2018. Try anything with ube in it!
Kristen would stop by this bakery when living in the Van Ness area of DC for amazing coffee, pastries and sandwiches. Try walking around the nearby suburbs for a glimpse of historic and gorgeous mid-Atlantic homes and greenery.
Their all-you-can-eat brunch is incredible! Google "Georgetown walking tour" while chowing down, and start your tour from the Georgetown waterfront.
Hank and Kristen visited this spot on one of their first dates while Kristen lived in DC. Try the cornflake-based desserts, you won't regret it.
