Neither of us were planning on going to that concert that night. But at the last minute, Kristen bought a ticket and joined her friends to see Manchester Orchestra. Little did she know, she’d meet Frank for the first time. When Kristen first sat down at the table, Frank was so confused he thought she was a lost stranger trying to run away from some creeper at the bar. Frank went to college with a friend of Kristen’s from high school. He had met pretty much all of Kristen’s friends over the years, but somehow their paths never crossed. After a few months of dating, they took a trip to Florida. In the pool, after a couple of drinks, Frank looked at Kristen and said “I think I’m going to marry you one day”. She responded with “yeah, I think I’d like that too”. Looking back, it’s pretty insane for us to have been talking like that, but here we are. Fast forward to March of 2020. Kristen and Frank have decided to move in together in a one bedroom apartment in Astoria! Two weeks after they moved in, the COVID lockdown began and they were both furloughed from work. They had to adjust to life in a small apartment with nothing to do, nowhere to go and without any living room furniture. Through a combination of floor puzzles, alcohol and Tiger King, they made it though without killing each other. Last year, Frank asked Kristen to go to a restaurant on New Years Eve. It was in a bubble outside and she didnt think it was a big deal (she didn’t even wash her hair before). She didn’t know, but he had planned the whole proposal for that night. The waitress brought out an expensive bottle of wine because, in her words, this was “a night to remember”. Kristen thought they were getting taken advantage of because it was New Years, but Frank was just nervous she’d ruin the surprise. When the ring came out and he proposed, he said, “if we can get through this past year, we can get through anything together”. Frank still has the ticket from that first concert.
