You will not need a passport. Although we are closer to Canada then Seattle we are still in the USA and won’t be sailing into Canadian waters for our wedding. Certain places on the island you will probably get a notice on your phone that says welcome to Canada!
If you fly into SeaTac you can rent a car it’s a 98 mile drive from Seatac to Anacortes Ferry Terminal. NOTE: you will need to have previously made a Ferry Reservation to get to Orcas Island. WSDOT.com the sooner you make a reservation the better. It’s $65 for the car and driver and $15 for each person beyond that. You only pay coming to the island it’s free to ride the ferry back to Anacortes when you leave. If you didnt want to drive from Seattle to Orcas you can also Fly using Kenmoreair.com. You can rent a car on https://orcasislandshuttle.com We do have taxi services and shuttles. You can use the shuttle service Orcashuttle.com (not same as car rental website)

Sept is normally still pretty warm in the 70's. You should be able to wear shorts, but in the evenings you might want jeans and a hoodie. It doesnt rain alot in Early Sept so we have our fingers crossed we will have beautiful weather for the wedding. However, they claim Rain on your wedding day is good luck!
One of the things we love about living here is that we dont have chain restaurants. Sorry, no Chick-Fil-A or Taco Bell! However, you won't starve. We have plenty of local owned places to eat. Yes, however, its about a $1 more a gallon. You should try to fill; if getting a rental car, up at the Safeway in Anacortes before you hit the ferry line.
Yes, we have two; a charming old historic one at the ferry landing and one in Eastsound that is a full service store. Plus we have Ray’s Pharmacy in Eastsound.
We have a medical center with Doctors on Orcas. But should an emergency happen a hospital is on Friday Harbor and we do have services to fly people off the island.
