We are all staying at Return Africa's Pafuri Tented Camp. Website: https://returnafrica.com/escapes/pafuri-tented-camp/
Nope! You can simply tell SANParks that you are staying at Return Africa's Pafuri Tented Camp, and you will be all set!
You can drive or fly up to Pafuri. We expect the majority of guests to drive up from Johannesburg on Friday (caravans and carpooling encouraged!). It takes approximately seven hours to drive up to the lodge from Johannesburg. We recommend following the directions Return Africa provides directly on their website: https://returnafrica.com/contact/locations/
The ceremony will be taking place in the largest fever tree forest in the southern hemisphere, a short 20-30 drive from the main lodge. All guests will be transported to and from the ceremony in game drive vehicles. We will be having cocktails and canapés in the forest after the ceremony. Be sure to bring your binoculars to enjoy the surrounding birds and wildlife! The reception will take place back at the main lodge (Pafuri Tented Camp), where we'll have the place to ourselves for dinner and dancing!
For most of the weekend, we'll be wearing comfortable, casual clothes for safari. Friday night, we will come back from game drive to freshen up before dinner. For the ceremony and reception on Saturday, we invite you to join us in "Bush Formal"... Ladies, think light, flowing dresses and fun, full-length jumpsuits. We'll be getting in and out of game drive vehicles, so leave the stilettos at home! Gentlemen, casual suits or blazers and dress shirts are perfect. Ties are definitely not required!
Check-in is at 2:00 PM on Friday, 19th of May. Check-out is at 11:00 AM on Sunday, 21st of May.
Friday, 19th of May: - 4:00pm afternoon game drive with a planned communal drink stop (We can't wait for this first moment of all being together in the bush!) * Accommodation for two nights * All meals and game drives * Levys to the Makuleke people
* SANParks Entrance Fees * Staff gratuities * Alcoholic beverages (beyond those for toasting and celebrating at wedding events!) * Travel costs to/ from Pafuri
It will be the start of South Africa's winter. Expect chilly morning safaris, warming up to 25 degrees Celsius (mid to high 70 degrees Fahrenheit) in the afternoons.
Don't forget your walking shoes, binoculars, swimming costume, layers for morning safari, and your "bush formalwear" for Saturday! Otherwise, we recommend packing whatever you typically would take on a bush weekend away.
