They say you find love when you are least expecting it. That was certainly our case. He had just started a new, demanding position at his job. She was a single mother who had just started nursing school while working a full time job. Neither of us necessarily wanted a relationship at the time.... until our paths crossed. We began talking after meeting at Ingles in Blue Ridge, GA in February 2016. He lived an hour away and after a few conversations over the phone he decided to drive up to see me; however, he could only stay an hour that evening. The next night he drove back to see me although it wasn’t for very long either. From there, we continued talking and would see each other when our schedules allowed - sometimes just meeting half way and sitting in the car to talk for 30 minutes. We continued to date on weekends, keeping the roads hot between his house and mine. My kids fell in love with him and he loved them, too. In June of 2016, we became “official” and agreed we would make the relationship work until I got out of college. We finally started sharing the news with our families (he was the very first guy that my dad approved of!)... and in July we said our first “I love you’s”. I finished college in the summer of 2018. We got engaged, left our homes to combine them into a larger home that was close to his family. I quickly found a job and he accepted a new position that allowed him to be home more. We started building our life together. Around the time of our engagement we found out we were expecting our baby, so our initial wedding plans were put on hold. Our son, Raylan, was born on March 13, 2019. Then we began planning our wedding again and look forward to finally celebrating our marriage with our family and friends!
