While the Southern Oaks uses "plantation" in its name it never served as one. The building was originally built in the mid-1960's to resemble a 19th century Antebellum plantation style. The venue served as private residence until it became a wedding venue in 1987.
Yes! New Orleans is world-renowned cultural landmark where something is always happening. During the entire weekend of our wedding, New Orleans will be hosting the French Quarter Festival. A FREE annual music festival that showcases more than 20 stages throughout the French Quarter to perform local music and represent genres from traditional and contemporary jazz to R&B, New Orleans funk, gospel, Latin, and cabaret.
