On a cold evening, we each were invited to dinner and a concert with our friends Brendan, Evan, and Marc in Asbury Park to see Mr. Tickle Hands perform. We, of course, each said yes! After bonding over our love of coffee, we talked about music, gazed at the stars, and walked along the boardwalk. Then, the group headed over to Marc's house to stay warm around the firepit. A few days later, Kristen called Chris and we set up a date for that very same evening! On our first date, we listened to some live music and went for a walk through Red Bank. Despite how cold, windy, and rainy it was, we walked around downtown and watched the rain fall over the river at Riverside Gardens Park. We were shivering and nervous, but our growing love kept us warm!!! All of this was thanks to our very wonderful friends, Brendan, Evan, and Marc!
For Chris's birthday, we decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants in Red Bank and go for a walk afterwards around town. After a great meal where we reflected on our relationship and dreamed about what was to come in the upcoming year, we started our walk. Chris had timed the walk perfectly, and we arrived at Riverside Gardens Park a little bit before sunset. We watched the beautiful sunset over the Navesink River, and were only slightly interrupted by a police officer's loud announcement about the newly-instated town curfew for minors, some teenagers asking us to take a picture of them, and other interruptions... After things calmed down, and as the sunset was at its peak, Chris got down on one knee, took out the ring, and proposed! Kristen immediately said "YES"!!!! We laughed, cried, and admired the remaining sunset.
We can't wait to celebrate our love with all of you! We are so grateful for this opportunity to bring everyone together, and mark the beginning of the next chapter in our love story! Cheers, Kristen & Chris
