The wedding ceremony and reception will take place at Houmas House Plantation & Gardens in Darrow, LA. The ceremony will be held under the majestic, 300+ year-old Oak tree on site, and the reception will be held in the pavilion ballroom. Guests should be prepared to walk on grass.
We recommend that you arrive no later than 3:45 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 PM.
Houmas House has ample parking on-site to accommodate guests.
Both the Baton Rouge Metropolitan and the New Orleans International airports are equidistance from Houmas House. It is more likely to find affordable flight options through the New Orleans International Airport as it is a bigger airport and services more airlines. Airport information can be found on the "Travel" section of our page.
We would recommend visiting and touring New Orleans after the wedding. New Orleans and the French Quarter require a lot of walking, wayfinding, touring, eating, and drinking. While spending time in New Orleans is a lot of fun and amazing, it can also be exhausting! We want to celebrate with you when your battery is full, and we may want to join you in the streets of New Orleans, too.
You will need to provide your own transportation to/from the airport. We are happy to provide transportation from the hotel to the venue, and from the venue to the hotel on the day of the wedding. Please find additional information on transportation in the "Travel" section of our page.
Our ceremony will be an unplugged ceremony. We ask that guests put their phones away and be present during this joyous occasion. We have invested in wonderful photographers and videographers to capture this special day, and we will be more than happy to share all of those captured moments with you.
We love all of your kids but thought you might want to take the night off and celebrate in style! To allow all of our guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for understanding.
Of course, we can’t guarantee anything, but we have requested 70 degrees and sunny! Keep an eye on the weather in Darrow, LA via your preferred weather app in the weeks leading up to the wedding.
We ask that you send your RSVP through snail mail, USPS. There will be an RSVP card with a pre-stamped envelope included with your invitation.
We ask that you send your RSVP no later than August 23, 2024.
Hotel room block information can be found on the "Travel" section of our page.
The hotel is located next to a wide variety of food options for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, we would recommend Cracker Barrel or Waffle House. If you are looking for a great lunch option, you can't go wrong with Don's Seafood, El Paso Mexican Grill, or Walk-Ons Sports Bistro.
The dress code for our wedding is cocktail attire. Be aware that the ceremony is outdoors so there is a chance that the weather could be unfavorable to some. For example, be prepared with a light jacket should South Louisiana be graced with a cooler day.
The reception is scheduled to conclude at 10:00 PM.
We have conveniently linked our registries to our website. Please find more information in the "Registry" section of our page.
