We met for the first time at a friend's house. Brant had the tousled look of surfing the beach waves in Calfironia and I was hooked. I sat next to him on the couch while Breaking Bad blared in the background and tried my best to produce a sentence that would remotely resemble small talk - it didn't work. Luckily, we had a few more chance meetings and we kept each other on our toes. The small talks turned into deep conversations that lasted well past midnight in the Chili's parking lot and watching YouTube videos together. It turns out, we are good at making each other laugh.
We went back to where we had our first date. It was our four year anniversary and Brant wanted it to be special (you sly dog). We wined and dined at Gloria's before hitting up Downtown McKinney for coffee. Since it was close to Christmas, there was a Christmas tree on the square that could almost rival the one in Rockefeller Plaza. Almost. Brant got us in a sled in front of the tree to take a picture. We reflected on our four years together before he got on one knee to propose. Of course, I said "YES".
