Traditional Wedding/Attire

The Wedding Website of Kristen Martin and Bankole Olowe
Our traditional wedding is the first of our celebrations, uniting us. A Yoruba wedding or "Igbeyawo Ile Yoruba" is a vibrant and elaborate ceremony that signifies the union of two families, not just the couple. It involves a series of steps and rituals emphasizing family, respect and cultural traditions. Key elements include the engagement ceremony (introduction), the traditional wedding ceremony, and the presentation of the "Eru Iyawo" Yoruba Wedding attire take practise of wearing Aso-ebi a chosen fabric for relatives, friends and memebers of the wedding party. Everyone creates their own unique look from the same material, which adds the beauty and unity of the day. In order to purchase your material please be in contact with Bankole and I , We will be happy to assist and answer any other questions for more information you are also welcome to look at our FAQs.

We understand that the day will be filled with a multitude of events, and the traditional wedding ceremony will take place quite early. Should you be unable to attend that earlier festivities, we kindly invite you to join us for the White Wedding later in the day. :If you are taking Aso-ebi please contact us as soon as possible for us to place your orders as the material will be sourced out of the country.
