We highly recommend flying into the closest airport, Naples International Airport (NAP) which is 1 hour from Amalfi, Amalfi Coast by train or car. The next closest airport is Rome Fuimicino Airport (FCO) which is approximately 3 hours from Ravello by train or car. The official name of Rome airport is Leonardo da Vinci International Airport, but also used the name Fiumicino Airport (FCO), by the name of the town nearby. If you are renting a car, Some of the most reputable companies that I have used include Sicily by Car, Hertz, Budget, and Alamo. PLEASE Note that some of these companies WILL ask you for an international drivers permit in order to pick up your rental car. An international drivers permit costs $20 and can be obtained at any AAA office in person (it will take about 15 minutes to apply and receive one at AAA- super easy!)
