Our Story

It all started when Steve asked to pick Kristen up for a hike with a group of friends. They were both nervous but relaxed as the conversation flowed smoothly on the drive to the hike. What started as a 2pm hike with friends ended with them talking in the car car parked outside her apartment until midnight. Their connection grew more by the day as they talked more and more. Their first date was was to see Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, a steel drum band that blew them away with talent and a deep connection to their music. Rudy’s Jazz Room has been a fond and fun place for date nights ever since. They knew from the beginning that this relationship wasn’t like anything else either of them had experienced before and grew stronger day by day. From cooking ravioli together Wednesday nights, to hiking all over Tennessee to find the perfect swimming hole. From Dallas to get to know her family to New Jersey to know his. By October with love in the air fresh off of a friends wedding, Steve made the easiest decision of his whole life. In an elaborate plan that gave nothing away to Kristen, going for a nice scenic hike in their fancy clothes, he proposed on a jetty in the middle of the Delaware river.
