Take advantage of the Tapatio Tour bus behind the Catedral that offers transportation to: Tlaquepaque - known for it's small town feel, cultural vibrant streets, authentic crafts. Walk the streets and make sure to try the popular nieve de garrafa (simliar to gelato) and make have some lunch/dinner and drinks while listening to a live Mariachi show inside the Parian. Chapala - Mexico's largest natural lake and one of the largest retirement destination in Jalisco. Take a stroll along the boardwalk, enjoy a thermal spa, take a boat to Isla Alacran for some lunch. ChupaTour - night-time party bus with live DJ.
A walking tour of Guadalajara's Historic Center (Centro Histórico) will take you through its main plazas, museums, and colonial-era architecture.
Visit the home and tomb of Vicente Fernandez. It is only open from 11am-2pm so plan accordingly. If visiting Lake Chapala for the day, this would be a good stop as it is on the way there from Guadalajara.
If your preference is to spend Spring Break at the beach, Puerto Vallarta is a great option to fly to from Guadalajara. You can get there in 1 hour for less than $75!
