Nick and Kristeen met during dental school, but did not really acknowledge each other's presence until their third year. After class, Nick went to the USC gym five days a week and worked out for two to three hours. One day seeing Kristeen come out of a workout class, Nick asked if she wanted to join in, but that was an immediate no because ain't no way she was gonna spend three hours at a gym. After months of pestering Kristeen, she finally said yes to get him off her back. To her surprise, Nick did not kill her during their first workout so she decided to continue their gym sessions. While spending time together, they bonded over food, boba, old fashioned's, and Game of Thrones. Nick knew he wanted to date Kristeen one evening when he went to pick her up for a dental school event, and she walked out in a red dress, like DAAAAAMN. Nick eventually got the courage to ask Kristeen out on a date TWO MONTHS later. For anyone reading this who are still single, just keep pestering someone to hang out and it just might work out ;) Kristeen and Nick's relationship has been tested through the years with the pandemic hitting shortly after they started dating and her moving to Florida for residency for two years. Despite the long distance, their relationship flourished and they made it work by Facetiming, watching shows and playing games together, and taking turns traveling to each other at least once a month. Now, you can find Nick and Kristeen still spending their time at the gym together, playing video games, and napping together on the couch.

The secretive proposal planning started shortly after Nick purchased the ring. Since Kristeen was living in Florida, this made it easier for Nick to secretly meet with her parents and her brother, Richie, to ask for her hand in marriage. During the meet, Nick wanted to have about a five second moment of silence before changing the subject to something more serious. He figured it would not take that long, but after TWO HOURS, he finally counted five seconds and popped the question. Kristeen's parents were very supportive and gave us their blessing. Richie, who knew what the purpose of the meeting, tried recording the entire thing but since it took over two hours, his phone battery died in vain and the footage was lost. The plan started when Kristeen invited her friends Joelene and Anh to go to Epcot at Disneyworld. Kristeen is a Disney fanatic, so Nick knew that it was the best place to propose. Since both of them have always talked about traveling to Japan, Nick decided to make the proposal happen at the Japan section at Epcot. He secretly flew to Orlando on the day that Kristeen and her friends were going and coordinated with her friends to arrive at the Japan side. Nick made a collage box that when the lid was opened, the box opened up and exposed a bunch of Polaroid pictures of them. He gave the box to a Disney employee at a shaved ice counter and instructed Joelene to pick up the box. Kristeen, thinking that the box was a gift from Disney, opened it and was stunned by all of the pictures. At the same time, Nick, who was hiding behind a bush behind her, started walking down and proposed to the love of his life. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
