Our Amazing Hosts
Kristal met Courtney in Madrid, Spain while studying abroad in college. Back in the US, Kristal visited Courtney in Phoenix just after she had started dating Aaron and knew it was something special. Courntey and Aaron married last year and together run Lost Paws, AZK9 a Phoenix area animal rescue. They are the most caring and generous people in the world and we are honored they chose to host our wedding.
Kim and Tom Egan

Kim and Tom are Kristal’s parents and are from Sioux City, Iowa and the Valley in California respectively. Tom is a Saint. He willingly married Kim and jumped wholeheartedly into raising Kristal and her sister Julie. Tom and Kim’s relationship is so loving and sweet that Kristal almost gave up hope of falling in love; she didn’t think it was possible to meet someone who loved her the same way. There was always a running joke among Kristal and her friends that they needed to find their Tom. Tom and Kim always want to do everything together (no really they genuinely do) from golfing to enjoying pre-dinner drinks on the couch with Tom’s infamous red cup. From the moment they met Zack, they knew Kristal had found a keeper and are overjoyed to welcome him to the family.
Janet and Ken Rich
Grooms Parents
Ken and Janet are Zack’s loving parents and hail from the Bronx and New Jersey respectively. In addition to raising Zack to be the (questionably) fine young man that he is today, they’ve enjoyed successful careers in the healthcare industry; Ken as a psychologist and Janet as a clinical documentation specialist. They imparted upon Zack his deep curiosity, quick wit and profound love of cats. When they’re not hard at work you can find them enjoying each other’s company at home with their two cats or hiking in the woods around their lake house. Their love for one another is inspiring and their biggest source of conflict is Ken’s love of watching TV at a loud volume, which interferes with Janet’s quiet book reading. They’re thrilled that Kristal loves Zack as much as they do.

Logan enjoys the finer things in life. Such as puppies, duck breast, and fine drinks accompanied by Zack and Kristal.

As most of you know the bride and groom lost their beloved Kilohana during the original wedding planning. They were devastated of course but right after Covid shut down the world AZK9 took in a Puggle mom who had given birth to 6 amazing puppies. Penny Lane was Courtney and Aaron’s gift to Kristal and Zack and she will be the happiest flower pup ever!

Ellie is Kristal’s first biological niece. She is an avid soccer player and a painter just like her mom.
Easton Westphal

Easton is Kristal’s nephew. He is a fire red ginger and a competitive LEGO builder.

Luca is the son of Kristal’s oldest and bestest friend Jessica. Even though Kristal begged and begged Luca was not coming to the original wedding last May. So if 1 good thing came out of covid it is that our Luca Bear will not only be at our wedding but he will be ring security.

Goldie and FiFi are daughters to Kristals chosen sister Valerie. Kristal adores being Aunt Kristal to these girls 😍

Naila is Kristal’s first friend from Hawaii, Renee’s daughter. Naila was born in Maryland and Kristal got to meet her when she was days old.
Adam “Weeds” Weidenbaum

Zack and Adam met at Tufts University and cemented their strong bond hanging out at 3 Sheet Saloon after graduating. He’s Zack’s brother from another Mother. Much to the chagrin of Kristal and Zack, Adam won their shared fantasy football league through shrewd drafting and general sports nerdiness.

Kristal’s youngest Best Friend A month before Zack and Kristal met she started working for the Romanoff’s. She spent most summers with Eva at the barn in the Hamptons and Upstate.
Tommy Zhang

Zack and Tommy met working together at sCoolTV and quickly became great friends. Tommy is a true renaissance man, the wide range of his skills and knowledge is both impressive and slightly intimidating. Over the years, he’s been an incredible friend to both Kristal and Zack.

Kristal’s Favorite A month before Kristal and Zack met, Kristal starting working for the Romanoff’s and learned so many important rules regarding life from Mia, such as, Staten Island and Canada aren’t real places and only iPhones matter.

The Future MLB MVP Kristal was Zach’s preschool teacher at kindercare in CA. Kristal’s favorite memories are when they would play baseball and Zack would self commentate his own at bats. “Zachary Danon now up to bat...”

John Hatcher

John first met Zack at Tufts University in 2008 where they spent many late nights swapping music (remember external hard drives?). When John moved to Manhattan in 2013, Zack was the one who met him at the train station and helped him move into his first apartment. Originally from New Hampshire, John now lives in Brooklyn and is an engineer for an EdTech start up.
Sarah Zehnder

If you’re looking for someone to blame for Kristal and Zack being together, look no further. Sarah is Kristal’s oldest friend in New York and arranged for Kristal and Zack to meet without their knowledge after she started working at 3 Sheet Saloon. Sarah has been a tremendous friend to both, helping them through their ups and downs with calming words and not so subtle nudges when needed.
