They met on *drum roll* Tinder. About 5 1/2 years ago they swiped right on each other. Kyle messaged Krista, they talked back and forth for a few days, and then she gave him her number. Radio silence. A few days later she got a text saying he was in the woods camping with friends and hadn't had reception. They texted, set up a phone call, then a date. The date lasted hours, like in that corny movie-type way where you just keep talking. They’ve been inseparable ever since.
On May 5, 2018 Kyle told Krista they were going to go out to celebrate her new job in the town they lived in, Ridgewood, NJ. They walked from the apartment through a park in the center of town where Kyle stopped Krista and handed her a present. Back story: over the years Kyle had painted Krista signs with inside jokes on them, always the same font and set up. Inside the present was a sign painted by Kyle saying "Will you marry me?". He got down on a knee, offered her a ring, and she said yes. A photographer was there to capture it all and as they were hugging both sets of families ran out from where they were hiding to join in. Kyle had set up a dinner for everyone afterwards in town and they got to eat, drink, and celebrate for the rest of the night.
