Jake sometimes claims he rescued her from a burning building. Or a shark attack. In reality, we met online—like most couples these days. Our first date in January 2020 was lunch at Campbell Park, where Jake brought a picnic basket full of goodies and quickly won over her (and more importantly, her dog, Hank). Krista and Jake met at a difficult time, just a month before the Covid-19 pandemic began. Despite the challenges, the two were inseparable (while still social distancing!) and the rest is history.
