FAQs

The Wedding Website of Krista Helgeson and Carstin Nelson
Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

August 26, 2026

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, our wedding and reception will be an adults-only (18+) celebration. Children are warmly welcome to join us at the family dinner the evening before.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Your presence is the greatest gift! For those who wish, we have set up a honeymoon fund for our trip to Michigan and a donation fund supporting Greater Mankato Area United Way, both available under the “Registry” section of our website.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Cocktail hour begins at 4:00 PM—we recommend arriving then to enjoy a drink and take in the surroundings before the ceremony begins at 5:00 PM. Guests staying at the Country Inn & Suites under our hotel block may use the shuttle service to the venue. Shuttles will depart at 3:30 PM and 4:15 PM.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We recommend dressy casual attire—something nice but comfortable, like sundresses, button-down shirts, and slacks.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

We have reserved a hotel block at the Country Inn & Suites. Please use the link in the “Travel” section of our website to book at the discounted rate—reservations must be made by August 26, 2026 to receive the block rate.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the venue?

Answer

Yes—transportation will be provided to and from the Country Inn & Suites. Shuttles to the venue will depart at 3:30 PM and 4:15 PM. For the return trip, shuttles will begin leaving the venue at 9:00 PM and will run every 45 minutes until midnight, when the celebration comes to a close.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes—please note any dietary restrictions in your RSVP!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes—for those driving to the venue, there is plenty of parking available at Chankaska Creek Winery, including overflow parking if needed.
