Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Krista Lindseth and Andy Hughes
Chicago has many, many things to do, especially in the summertime. We hope you love spending time in our city as much as we do! Here are some recommendations of great ways to see the city and some of our favorite restaurants and bars.

Wendella Architecture Cruise

400 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611
, (312) 337-1446

One of the best ways to see the city in the summer is to take an architecture cruise! Hear stories of Chicago history while cruising down the river (bar on board). Tour generally lasts ~1 hour with a pickup/drop-off near LondonHouse (choose the Michigan Avenue location).

Flight Club

111 West Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601
, (312) 284-2474

Technology-incorporated darts bar. You don't need to be an expert darts player to enjoy the many different darts games on a high tech board. Reservations recommended.

Michigan Avenue "Magnificent Mile"

Chicago, IL 60611

Famous in Chicago, Mag Mile is 13 blocks of shopping and dining running from the Chicago River to Oak Street.

Skydeck at Willis Tower (Sears Tower for those of us who live here)

233 South Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60606
, (312) 875-9447

Check out the view from the 103rd floor of the tallest building in Chicago. Krista's first office was on the 62nd floor of this building! Tickets required.

Millennium Park

201 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60602
, (312) 742-1168

Take photos in front of "The Bean" (a tourist favorite), check out Crown Fountain, and relax in the park.

Butch McGuire's

20 West Division Street, Chicago, IL 60610
, (312) 787-4318

Don't expect anything fancy, but have a beer at the dive bar where we met!

Cafecito

215 East Chestnut Street, Chicago, IL 60611
, (312) 643-2242

We spend many Saturday mornings walking over to Cafecito for a casual brunch. Our favorites are the Ropa Vieja or Chivito, and if you're drinking, don't miss the Dos Hermanos. Note that it is first come, first served and service can be a bit slow, so plan accordingly.

Lil' Ba-Ba-Reeba!

441 North Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 985-6909

Awesome tapas, so it's great for trying many things! This is a special place for us as it's where we went after getting engaged. The original location in Lincoln Park (Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba) is also great. Reservations recommended.

Piccolo Sogno

464 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60642
, (312) 421-0077

Our favorite Italian restaurant we go to for special occasions! Reservations recommended.

Centennial Crafted Beer & Eatery

733 North LaSalle Drive, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 284-5353

Cozy craft beer bar in Krista and Andy's neighborhood, River North.

Ema

74 West Illinois Street, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 527-5586

Delicious Mediterranean small plates in River North (Ema) or West Loop (Aba). Reservations recommended.

O'Leary's Public House

541 North Wells Street, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 661-1306

Miller Lites and Golden Tee (is it obvious this recommendation comes from Andy?).

Velvet Taco

910 West Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60607
, (708) 512-4882

Not your typical tacos, but definitely one of our favorites! Counter service and casual.

Twin Anchors Restaurant & Tavern

1655 North Sedgwick Street, Chicago, IL 60614
, (312) 266-1616

As shown in movies The Dark Knight and Return to Me, come to this old school bar/restaurant known for their ribs. No reservations, but feel free to put your name in and post up at the bar or walk a block to The Sedgwick Stop Bar to kill some time.

RPM Italian

52 West Illinois Street, Chicago, IL 60654
, (312) 222-1888

Amazing Italian in River North.
