We met at a Super Bowl party on February 1, 2009. Many of the people at that party are still very important people in our lives. We were both at that party due to our connection to Sigma Pi at UCLA. Krista’s friend and Matron of Honor was dating one of Mike’s friends, both of whom were in Sigma Pi. The night was memorable not because of sparks flying between the two of us, nor the Steelers' win, but rather a jumping chest bump that broke a table. That night and many future social gatherings always kept us in the same circle. Football games, Meltdowns, and nights at Q’s and South culminated in a BBQ in 2019 that led to a night at Sharky’s in early 2020. Krista brought along a dear friend that night to listen to some country music while Mike brought all of Playa and, of course, a Sigma Pi. Subtle hints would no longer do, and Mike asked Krista if he could kiss her. Krista said yes, and they have been together since that night, weathering Covid and obtaining 2 college degrees while helping raise a now 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old dog.
