We're getting married!

In the fall of 2008, amidst the hustle and bustle of McGill University, Joey and Krissie found themselves working side by side in the athletics department. Their days were filled with the energy of sports and the camaraderie of teamwork, but it was during the quiet moments at Molson Stadium that they truly connected. There, with the city skyline as their backdrop, they spent countless hours talking about everything and anything, sharing dreams, fears, and the little things that make life special. Their bond was solidified over many (countless) Pizza Pizza deliveries, a ritual that quickly became the cornerstone of their budding friendship. For years, they were good friends, supporting each other through the ups and downs of life. It wasn’t until 2013, after Krissie returned from teaching in Northern Quebec and Joey was beginning a new career in Real-Estate, that something shifted between them. What had once been a close friendship began to deepen into something more. Because, along with Krissie came Lou, a dog she brought back from Northern Quebec. Lou had a hard time adjusting to city life—unsure and scared, she needed extra care and attention. Joey began coming over every evening to take Lou on runs, patiently helping her adjust. Lou, who was once uncertain, quickly fell head over heels for Joey—faster than Krissie did! In those moments, as Joey and Lou bonded, Krissie found herself drawn closer to Joey, and what had once been a close friendship began to deepen into something more. They saw each other in a new light, and with the foundation they had built over those years, their love blossomed just as quickly as their friendship had. The past decade (or more, but who's counting?!) has been an incredible journey. Together, Joey and Krissie have climbed mountains—both the literal peaks that have challenged them physically and the metaphorical ones that have tested their resilience and love. Each mountain has demanded hard work, patience, and perseverance, and at times, the climb has been difficult. But together, they’ve discovered that the most rewarding part comes once they’ve reached the summit. It’s in those exhilarating moments when they begin the ski down, feeling the rush of joy and accomplishment, that they realize every step of the climb was worth it. Now, as they stand on the threshold of this new chapter, Joey and Krissie couldn’t be happier to celebrate their marriage with the people they love most. This day is a testament to the journey they’ve shared, and they are so excited to continue climbing new mountains together, hand in hand, knowing that the funnest part is yet to come.
