In the summer of 2018, Kristine was taking her usual afternoon nap when she was woken up by a notification on her phone. It was a message on Facebook Messenger from an unfamiliar person. At first, she was puzzled as to who had randomly just messaged her. She then remembered this person who added her as a friend on Facebook awhile back ago. Rewinding back in time, Kristine's friend, Cy, had told her that she knew a guy who was interested in adding her on Facebook. She then accepted his friend request, but there was no communication after that. Fast forward to a few months later, this mysterious person named Kris reached out to Kristine. From then on, they started messaging each other everyday and he eventually asked her to hang out one day.

Their first meet-up was in Rosemont where they talked and got to know more about each other. An astonishing moment was when Kris asked Kristine where she was working at the moment. She responded that she was working at Avanti, a skilled nursing facility, and surprisingly he said that his father used to be a patient there. He then pulled out a picture of his father, and to her surprise, she remembered him as one of her patients in therapy. Unexpectedly, God had plans to bring their paths together. After their first meet-up, they found themselves talking and hanging out everyday and eventually Kris asked Kristine to be his girlfriend on August 25, 2018.

For their fourth year anniversary trip, Kris and Kristine decided to take a vacation in the Bahamas. After a long exhausting day spent at Atlantis, Kris had convinced Kristine to see this secluded art exhibit spot on the Cove peninsula called the "Sacred Space". While Kristine was struggling to walk on the beach with sore feet from wearing heels, she thought to herself that this walk better be worth it! When they both reached the exhibit, he then started setting up his GoPro, and they proceeded to take time-lapse photos. They started to do different poses from cute to goofy poses, and she said to him "let's do something romantic!". He then got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, and the rest is history.
