Jared and I met at Troy University in the Hall School of Journalism. Neither one of us really knew of each other except through passing at school. However, Jared and I knew of each other through mutual friends, but we had never officially met. We officially met through friends and started hanging out through SAGA meals (Troy University Dining Hall) and a friends birthday party. We officially started to become more serious when Jared was going out of the country on a mission trip and he told me he would not have his phone for two weeks. He will tell you the thing that made him pursue me more was I remembered when his flight got in and texted him after not talking to him for two weeks. We then started hanging out more and more with mutual friends and on our own. On June 14, 2012, he asked me to be his girlfriend and of course I said YES. So that summer while I was still in Troy working for a nonprofit and he was living in Montgomery working we hung out as much as possible. Well summer came to an end and I moved back to my hometown of Mobile, AL and he stayed in Montgomery. I relocated to Montgomery two years after we started dating due to new opportunities. I became plugged in with friends from college, met new friends through Jared, church, and Junior League of Montgomery. Five years later we went to The Grand Hotel in Point Clear Alabama. My family had a tradition of staying at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama every fourth of July for a week. Jared had planned for both of our parents to come to meet us for early Father's Day on June 3, 2017. The actual weekend of Father's Day we were planning to be at Sandals LaSource Grenada for our five year anniversary of dating. After a relaxing Saturday enjoying Fairhope shopping and food we got ready for dinner with our parents. After dinner Jared reminded me of moments that led up to this and got down on one knee and proposed in front of our parents upstairs inside of the hotel. It was such an amazing night.

I was enjoying my last year of college at Troy University before graduating and moving back to my hometown of Montgomery, AL. I had no idea that Adele was driven, caring, compassionate, family oriented, and passionate about Mobile Mardi Gras. Adele and I had a handful of mutual friends in common we met through a friend’s birthday party. We both enjoy listening to live music, spending time with friends, family and God. I was not expecting to end up with anyone and Adele took initiative when we were both invited to a mutual friends wedding suggesting we go together. Adele has either been known as one of two things either strategically showing up on time or drastically thirty minutes late for the event or function. I ended up meeting her at the reception meeting her friends and getting to know her more intimately we talked a lot over the next few weeks. I was going on a graduation trip to Europe with friends from my college ministry team to give back and make a lasting impact in the lives of others. I told Adele to text me when I was coming back into town, and to my sheer dismay when I got back off the plane in Atlanta I had a text from Adele saying I hope that your doing well, I missed hearing from you can't wait to hear about your trip. I was driven by how intentional she was to remember something so specific to show me that I was important. I knew then that I was wanting to pursue a relationship with her on June 14, 2012 we made it official. Five years later on June 3, 2017 I surprised her taking her to the Grand Hotel for the weekend to celebrate early Father’s Day with both of our parents. After dinner that night it started raining we went upstairs in the main building and I reminded Adele of all the great moments that reminded me of why she was the one for me. I had the song In Case You Didn't Know playing before I got down on one knee and asked her Adele will you marry me at the end. She was crying and in shock saying but immediately said YES!!!!
