Krestyn first noticed Jacob on a mutual friend's Instagram profile. She thought he was cute but left it at that. Six months later, a ski video of Jacob popped up on her Explore page. Krestyn liked the post, and within minutes, Jacob sent her a follow request and a message: "Hey :) if you're in Denver we should grab a drink sometime!" They met the very next day at Lady Jane, a neighborhood cocktail bar. When Jacob went in for a hug at the end of the night, Krestyn walked away and left him hanging – a moment they still laugh about. Thankfully, she did like him, and the dates kept coming. That summer, Jacob moved to San Diego, beginning a year of long distance before Krestyn joined him in California. After settling into West Coast life together, Jacob surprised Krestyn with a proposal on a casual Wednesday evening at their favorite sunset spot.
