Social media isn't always bad... Ben requested to be friends with Kresta on Facebook. She looked through his page, loved his smile and so she accepted his friend request. Then the adventure began!

We were getting ready to host our 1st Thanksgiving with both our families at our house. I had gotten the ring with my mom months earlier and had to hide it. I went the day of Thanksgiving to ask Kresta's dad for his blessing but told Kresta that I had to go into work. When I got back home, Kresta was scrambling to get ready to host and people started showing up. We had set up one long table outside in the back yard for both families to all sit together. The weather was perfect and once we got everyone seated I said that I wanted to give a toast/prayer before we ate. I started by explaining how much things had changed in my home since Kresta and the kids moved in. My house was now a home and every day I came home it felt so comfortable with them. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with them and was so blessed to be considered part of their family. I asked Kresta and the kids to come stand with me, I got down on one knee, presented the ring and ask if they would be my family. Kresta cried and said "yes". She noticed a little while later that the ring had both the kid's birthstones flanking the center diamond. I really wanted her to know that I wanted to marry her and I want the kids to also know they have an equally special place in my heart. I love them all so very much!
