Leslie & Kris met at Troy High School in Fullerton, CA in 2008. Leslie was a nerdy freshman and Kris was a sophomore on the varsity basketball team *cue Breaking Free from High School Musical*. Leslie remembers seeing Kris walking in the hallways and recalls following him to his locker just to catch a glimpse of his face. There were instances where she would "accidentally" bump into his shoulder just to get near him. The stalking paid off as shortly after, they had their first interaction after Leslie won freshman Homecoming Princess. They shared a magical high-five, and on that same day began talking on AOL instant messenger. Instant messaging turned into daily text messaging, which then turned into late night phone calls, and the rest was history. Their love grew stronger as they both navigated college, first jobs, graduate school, and all of life's challenges by each other's side. Twelve years later, these high school sweethearts had their COVID wedding ceremony on December 23, 2020, at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA.
Kris had planned for Leslie and him to go to Laguna Beach to meet up with his family for his mom's "birthday lunch" at the The Montage hotel. They arrived at the restaurant but Kris told Leslie that the wait to be seated was “going to be a while”, so he asked her to walk along the beach with him to pass the time. Little did she know, this was all a made up story to get her to walk to the place where the proposal was going to happen. They walked for a while until Leslie saw a group of people standing on a grassy area. She quickly realized the group of people were their beloved family and friends. That was the moment she knew... Everyone stood in two parallel lines, candles in hand, all leading up to a beautifully decorated space. Both Kris and Leslie walked in between the path created by their loved ones, and as they neared the end, Kris got down on one knee and asked Leslie the life-changing question. That was the start of their forever.
