What should I wear?

Answer

Please wear semi formal or formal attire - no jeans. I also highly recommend wearing no heels with a thin heel. There will be walking and the ceremony is in the grass. I'd stick to thick heels, wedges, flats, sandals, etc.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Arrive to the venue at around 3:00 so you can walk to the Sunken Garden. It takes about 15 minutes without stopping (but your going to want to stop and take pictures!), so plan for about a 20-30 minute walk. There will also be a golf cart available to help shuttle people down to the garden. Ceremony starts at 3:30pm

Where do I park?

Answer

Parking is located next to the mansion at the main parking lot. From there you can walk towards the mansion to get to some of the gardens. The ceremony will be held at the Sunken Garden at the end of the walking paths. If you have any concerns please reach out to us!

Is there handicapped parking?

Answer

Yes! There is handicapped parking right next to the mansion. There is also handicapped parking right next to the Sunken Garden with a ramp off to the side.

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Yes, full open bar! So come prepared to party all night long!

Can I stay the night?

Answer

Yes! Allerton Mansion has rooms available in house, as well as on the grounds. Please see their website for more information and to call to make a reservation. https://allerton.illinois.edu/lodging/ There is also a hotel in Monticello if needed as well and their info is on the travel page. There is not a room block made.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Dinner will be seated and served with two meal options - Alyssa's and Tom's meal choices. Alyssa's meal is gluten free. Please reach out to us if there are any accommodations/allergies that need to be met with catering. There is also a children's meal available for kids.
