Cody and Taylor met in MA where Cody spent 3 months for work. Of course, they met during Cody's last week. On their first date, Taylor more than overcompensated by talking when Cody wasn't - she has trouble with awkward silences. They said their goodbyes, kept in communication, and before long, Cody came back to MA for his "second date". That weekend had much less awkward silence. In December, 2014, Taylor went down to NC to see Cody's world and fell in love. On December 13th, Cody asked Taylor to be his girlfriend and they spent the next 9 months traveling to see each other until Taylor moved to Winston Salem. Three dogs, plenty of ducks, chickens, tomatoes and bees later, we are getting married on our 5th anniversary.

Cody proposed to Taylor on June 6th, 2019. Cody and Taylor both share a love for country music, and after many concerts, festivals, and honkytonks filled with sloppy dancing and questionable singing, Cody knew Nashville would be a place that would be unique and also catch Taylor off-guard. Cody carried the ring in his pocket the entire day, and after Taylor’s 5th whiskey ginger, he knew he had a chance. Cody asked Taylor to marry him walking across the pedestrian bridge crossing Cumberland River headed to a concert at Nissan Stadium that evening. We’re still not sure if Taylor actually even said “Yes!”, but she still wears the ring to this day.
