The couple met through the social channels in Charlotte, NC 2021. They had a scheduled date with each other in January, however, both forgot about the plans and nothing followed. Almost two months later, they reconnected when Grant decided to ''slide into the DMs" and asked Maddie on a date. After several months, Maddie agreed to go on a date with Grant in April 2021. They met up at Museum Tower, where Grant lived at the time, and walked to the Cotton Room to get a craft cocktail--this little spot is a true gem, it's quiet, classy and timeless. There was a clear connection as the two talked for hours, bonding over a love for bourbon, college football, and more. The true test was to see if Maddie's cavachon, Gracie, was going to let Grant into her mom's life. It took LOTS of treats and cuddles, but our pup eventually came to love her dad just as much as her mama.

The night Grant asked Maddie to be his girlfriend is a night to remember. The two had dinner and drinks with some friends and ubered back home to Grant's place. Getting out of the car, Maddie handed her bag to Grant and her phone fell out...sliding through a grate and into the city drain. After many efforts to move the grate and retrieve the phone, we gave up and went up to Grant's apartment where he asked her to be his girlfriend.
