Jake was joining 4th of July festivities at Chuck's family lake house as they had done in years past. This particular year Bri was visiting her brother-in-law, Luke's family lake house next door. Jake saw Bri jump into the lake to retrieve a float for her nieces and was instantly interested. Later in the day they ran into each other at a bar (shout out Blarney Island!). Jake was looking his best dashing self in an arm sling and cast complete with cuts and bruises from a recent motorcycle crash. Bri thought, "that's the kind of responsible man I need in my life." Over the next several months they kept in touch - flowers were sent, and both parties managed to alter work trips to make sure to see each other in their respective cities. Jake scored himself a plus one spot to Jessa and Alina's Frozen birthday party extravaganza, kicking off Super Bowl weekend where it all began, at the lake! After much begging, eventually Bri decided to move to Denver to take the relationship to the next level. Jake and his dog Wisky took her hiking, fishing, road tripping, all the adventures - eventually taking her to Turks and Caicos. Jake proposed on a fishing trip, but she somehow still said yes!
